Italy

Rex and I had the wonderful experience of traveling to Italy for two weeks. We went the first week with the Beneficial Financial group, then stayed the second week and visited his mission. This is picture of Rex with our friends Greg and Arlyn Kemp in Rome.

This is the city of Sienna. This city does not allow cars or motor scooters, only foot traffic. It was amazing.

Rex and I at the last Beneficial dinner. There were many sad tears that night as we bid a final goodbye to our friends and business associates.

We visited the City of Pompei. In 79 A.D. a volcano erupted and sent gas and ash into the air. When it descended upon the city, it buried the city and all those who were there. Years later, when they unearthed the city, they discovered the ruins. By pouring liquid plaster into the bodies, they were just as when they died. It was very sad to see what had happened to a entire city.

On Sunday we visited Bari, one of the places where Rex served. He wanted very much to find Sister Cafagio. He had lost contact with her and did not know how to reach her. He had taught and baptised her 32 years ago. We attended the church and she was there. It was tearful and joyful reunion.

Rex is sitting on our patio in Taromina with majestic mountains in the back and the Mediterranean Sea in the front. It was a beautiful and breathtaking view.

Eating lunch with Paul and Linda Decker.. They stayed with us the second week. they have been our dear friends for many years.. we had a wonderful time with them.

For years ..Rex has told us how on his mission , every night he and his companion would stop on their way home and buy ringo cookies and milk. they would put the cookies in the milk.. he loved it. so he and Paul bought Ringo cookies and milk to have.. it brought back man y found memories for Rex.
